"Stories of Kristallnacht and Black Lives" event at the Farkas Center (FYI)

I am writing to let you know about an upcoming program from the Farkas Center in commemoration of Kristallnacht that is particularly relevant for students right now. The Mission of the Farkas Center is the study of the Holocaust in Catholic Schools. A description of the program follows: When Prejudice turns Lethal: Stories of Kristallnach and Black Lives On November 9, 1938, the Nazi's orchestrated deadly anti-Jewish riots throughout Germany while its police and citizens stood by. On May 25, 2020, police officers stood by as one of their own killed an unarmed, black man suspected of passing a counterfeit twenty-dollar bill. In light of the violence against black citizens today, how do we transform vulnerability into empowerment? This on-line event will take place on Monday, Nov. 9, from 4 - 6 pm on Zoom. We invite your junior high students to attend. To register: https://farkascenter.eventbrite.com.
Of course, please reach out to me with any questions at With hope for a more peaceful future, Pauline Borghello, R.S.M.
